ANTHEM ROOM CORRECTION: PERFECTING AUDIO

Anthem Room Correction Blog

You have to admire the work Anthem puts into making perfect audio for your room. Does that sound familiar? Of course Classic Stereo offers a preamplifier with Anthem Room Correction. Pair it with a power amplifier that offers Total Harmonic Distrortion and you have optimum sound quality in your home. You can see both items in the Classic Stereo showroom.

AVM 60 with Anthem Room Correction

Few Preamplifiers-Processors provide the cutting-edge features of the Anthem AVM 60.

It offers a ton of features, including:

  • Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio
  • Support for UHD Blu-ray and 4K60 video

Yet its Anthem Room Correction feature truly leads the way.

The feature attempts to create audio perfect for your room.

HOW IT WORKS

No audio lab can predict the obstacles in your room. So the receiver comes with an easy to use kit. You just need a Windows-based laptop with a CD Drive.

  1. Plug the kit’s special microphone into the laptop and the AVM 60 receiver.
  2. Then place the microphone in 5-10 listening positions in the room.
  3. Let the software take a sound sample from each spot and work its magic.

It will create intricate crossover curves to account for the walls and furniture in your room. They strive to make your room sound like the ideal lab standard.

THE MCA 525 – THE PERFECT MATCH

Anthem designed the MCA 525 power amplifier to match the AVM 60. Not only do their looks match; the power amplifier improves the audio.

The MCA 525 provides lower Total Harmonic Distortion for cleaner, pure sound and lower noise.

The new MCA series also boasts more efficient power and heavy-duty reliability.

ANOTHER PERFECT MATCH – ANTHEM AND CLASSIC STEREO

PLAYBAR OR PLAYBASE? A QUESTION FOR TV AUDIO

Sonos Playbase TV Audio

Sonos added Playbase to its TV audio options this spring. The new product makes Sonos fans choose between Playbase and Playbar.

You may visit Classic Stereo and ask our Electronics Professionals, “Which one is the best fit for my home?”

In turn, they will ask you some questions.

HOW IS YOUR tELEVISION, TV AUDIO AND ROOM DESIGNED?

Sonos says the audio output differs for each speaker but they produce the same quality sound.

So it comes down to design.

Have a flat screen TV mounted to a wall? The Playbar links to the bottom of the television, mounts to the wall below it, or can sit by itself on a TV stand.

On the other hand, the Playbase lives up to its name. Put a black TV stand on the Playbase and it should blend right in.

While you may not notice the look, the sound from the Playbase should stand out.

PLAYBASE FEATURES

If you do not want the Playbase in black, you can get it in white too. Both colors support up to 77 pounds of television.

You should not have any problems setting it up either. Plug in one cord for power and the other cord connects to the TV.

It can provide audio for more than your television. It streams music over WiFi instead of Bluetooth, which comes in handy when you get a phone call. WiFi music does not stop for the phone.

Finally, pair it up with SUB and two PLAY:1s for 5.1 surround sound.

PLAYBAR FEATURES

Playbar shares many of the same features:

  • Simple two-cord setup
  • TV audio and music streaming
  • Stream that music over WiFi
  • A wireless sync with SUB and two PLAY:1s for 5.1 surround sound

The Playbar also works wall mounted or laying flat.  It even works with your existing TV remote.

COMPANIES REUSING WASTE: CHARIOT RACES

Companies Reusing Waste Feature Image

Classic Stereo and Bekins work hard to recycle waste each day. We also try to set an example for companies reusing waste.

Our community has created many new uses for boxes that used to store big appliances and electronics. Yet, Covenant Life Church in Grand Haven found a new way to think outside the box.  They even thought inside the box a little too.

once a box – now a chariot

companies reusing waste chariot races

UpStreet Children’s Ministries presented its Kids Camp at the end of June. They really sold out for this year’s theme too. They immersed the children in Rome at the time of Paul and the Underground Church.

The camp featured:

  • togas
  • tie dye
  • an ancient Roman marketplace
  • an example of an underground church
  • live actors playing the roles of Paul and a Roman soldier
  • and chariot races

WATCH: DONATED BOXES TURN INTO ROMAN CHARIOTS

That’s when they worked with Bekins and Classic Stereo. Our Warehouse Manager, Brian, donated boxes for the Kids Camp. Rich used his years of experience and talent to fit the largest boxes through each doorway.

The staff at UpStreet Children’s Ministries cutout a small portion and let their imaginations run wild.

One child sat in a medium sized box, while one, two or more classmates grabbed a plastic band and pull them along the grassy field.

They even tried sitting a few children in the bigger boxes and asking a group of children to pull them the same way.

Click on the video to watch it. You can see how much the children loved it.

it is important to be companies reusing waste

We hope people continue to contact us with new ideas to reuse waste. We take pride in our efforts to recycle, but re-use works even better.

Our employees work hard every day to reduce our carbon footprint. We even built our Coopersville Service Center with recycling in mind. It includes enough storage space, cardboard balers and other machinery for us to recycle over 90 percent of our waste including:

  • cardboard
  • cores
  • plastic ties
  • film
  • styrofoam
  • old appliances
  • and more

It requires extra space and money, but we believe in the cause. Our efforts in 2016 helped save:

  • 2,330 gallons of oil
  • 159,880 gallons of water
  • 162,185 Kilowatt Hours of energy
  • 1,370 pounds of air pollution effluents
  • 85 cubic yards of landfill space
  • 388 trees

VISBEEN ARCHITECTS ENLISTS BEKINS & CLASSIC STEREO

Visbeen Architects Alley Party

Visbeen Architects hosted guests at their Design Home Thursday night.  The event raised money for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

The Design Home acts as Wayne and Angela Visbeen’s living space, work space, but also their showroom. They designed the space to wow potential customers.

With that in mind, they hired Bekins and Classic Stereo to furnish appliances and electronics in the home.

ELECTRONICS AND APPLIANCES FOR VISBEEN ARCHITECTS

The electronics in the home feature hidden installation and built-in speakers. Since we installed them during the construction phase, the speakers are flush to the ceiling.

Each room can listen to its own music or the whole home can play the same audio.

The Design Home also features Seura Vanishing Entertainment flat screen televisions. Turn the TV off and it transforms into a mirror.

The kitchen features appliances from Bekins, including a pair of built-in Gaggenau refrigerators. The refrigerators feature the same finish as the cabinetry in the rest of the kitchen, which makes them discreet and blend in with the rest of the room.

COMPANIES THAT GIVE BACK: DONATING BOXES

Companies that give back deliver boxes

As companies that give back to our community, we jumped at a recent chance to help a local Vacation Bible School.

Our Warehouse Manager donated items to the Coopersville Reformed Church. We would merely recycle these items. Instead, staff at their Vacation Bible School turned cardboard boxes into structures for play.

VBS AT COOPERSVILLE REFORMED CHURCH

The Vacation Bible School at Coopersville Reformed Church offers a week of fun for children as young as four years old. The oldest students in the program, the fifth graders, co-lead the group in learning to follow Jesus and shine HIS light through the community.

More than 130 students showed up for the first day today, and the school runs through Friday morning. Items donated by Bekins and Classic Stereo line many of the hallways and rooms at the school.

“It’s amazing to be able to have (Bekins and Classic Stereo’s) help,” Bible Adventure Leader Samantha Krepel said. “We are so excited to have the recyclables.”

The church recently remodeled a portion of the school, so the cardboard structures allow the children to play games along the wall without touching the the renovations.

This isn’t the first time we have donated boxes for a local school and we hope people continue to contact us. We take pride in our efforts to recycle, but re-use works even better.

PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER: BIG SOUND

Portable Bluetooth Speaker Peachtree DeepBlue 2

“You will be surprised how loud it can get,” Classic Stereo Electronics Professional Bill Price says. “Its sound is much bigger than its size.” If you are in search of a portable Bluetooth speaker, or even not a fan of them at all, come into our showroom to hear the Peachtree DEEPBLUE2. See if its sound shocks you too.

HOW DOES IT PRODUCE SO MUCH SOUND?

It does not even stand one foot tall and weighs only 16 pounds, so you can move the speaker into any room. With its small size in mind, Peachtree uses a few features to ensure that its speaker still performs well at a high volume.

  • A custom 440-watt amplifier creates five times more power than home Bluetooth speakers on the market.
  • The 6.5 inch woofer moves so much air that you will not only hear full bass, you will feel it too.
  • Five speakers configure three ways to balance the sound. You can easily hear every voice and instrument.

NOT JUST PORTABLE…IT’S SMART TOO

Volume changes how our ears hear bass. The portable Bluetooth speaker uses a “Smart Volume” feature to adapt the bass levels for you. Yet, a remote still lets you control the bass if you want.
