ELECTRONICS 101: WHAT IS A RECEIVER?

Electronics 101 Receiver Feature Image

Electronics can be complicated. Luckily, our experts have spent decades simplifying them for our customers. Ever wonder what a receiver does for your home? Classic Stereo Electronics Professional Mike Smith has the answer in this week’s Electronics 101.

WHAT DOES A RECEIVER DO?

The receivers we offer include a pre-amplifier, power amplifier and a tuner all in one. You connect your sources (cable TV, blue ray player, AM/FM radio, etc.) and your speakers to one.  Then it takes the information from your source, reads it, improves it, then sends the audio out to your speakers and the video to your TV or projector.

Owning a receiver can offer a handful of benefits:

  • You can control many sources through one piece of equipment.
  • It can improve the quality of your video and audio.
  • It powers your speakers.

which one’s best for you?

Our experts can not only explain complicated electronics in simple terms, they ask the right questions to get you the right equipment. Visit our showroom and let one of our experts improve your home system with a new receiver.
