Your TV, projector, screen and speakers usually get all of the glory in your home setup. However, a new AV Receiver can really upgrade your Home Theater experience. It’s a relatively simple upgrade too.
CHANGing YOUR AV RECEIVER – CHANGEs a lot
If you haven’t changed your AV Receiver in a few years, you missed this:
- Dolby Atmos
- 4K Processing
- Component To HDMI Upscaling
DOLBY ATMOS – LITERALLY RAISING SURROUND SOUND
Atmos originated within the last couple of years. So if you bought your receiver a few years ago, it cannot unleash the next level of sound.
Atmos helps isolate sounds above your head. Add elevated speakers to your surround system to hear a helicopter flying over you.
It also fills the room with more sound and envelopes you into the experience.
We like to say that your home setup acts like a chain that is only as strong as the weakest link.
Let’s say you have a 4K TV and a 4K Blu-ray player. However, you are switching outputs with an HD receiver. The video will be HD and you will not enjoy all of the benefits that 4K video has to offer.
Many receivers also offer 4K upscaling which allows you to watch HD video in a 4K resolution. It’s not as good as a 4K video on a 4K screen, but a good receiver can upgrade the HD video quality in the process.
COMPONENT TO HDMI UPSCALING
Do you have DVDs or VHS videos that you have not made digital yet? Wouldn’t you love to still watch them on your sweet setup?
Ask our Electronics Professionals about receivers that allow you to hook up those legacy devices to the latest technology.
Certain receivers allow you to convert component or composite video and audio to HDMI.
