Sonos added Playbase to its TV audio options this spring. The new product makes Sonos fans choose between Playbase and Playbar.
You may visit Classic Stereo and ask our Electronics Professionals, “Which one is the best fit for my home?”
In turn, they will ask you some questions.
HOW IS YOUR tELEVISION, TV AUDIO AND ROOM DESIGNED?
Sonos says the audio output differs for each speaker but they produce the same quality sound.
So it comes down to design.
Have a flat screen TV mounted to a wall? The Playbar links to the bottom of the television, mounts to the wall below it, or can sit by itself on a TV stand.
On the other hand, the Playbase lives up to its name. Put a black TV stand on the Playbase and it should blend right in.
While you may not notice the look, the sound from the Playbase should stand out.
If you do not want the Playbase in black, you can get it in white too. Both colors support up to 77 pounds of television.
You should not have any problems setting it up either. Plug in one cord for power and the other cord connects to the TV.
It can provide audio for more than your television. It streams music over WiFi instead of Bluetooth, which comes in handy when you get a phone call. WiFi music does not stop for the phone.
Finally, pair it up with SUB and two PLAY:1s for 5.1 surround sound.
Playbar shares many of the same features:
- Simple two-cord setup
- TV audio and music streaming
- Stream that music over WiFi
- A wireless sync with SUB and two PLAY:1s for 5.1 surround sound
The Playbar also works wall mounted or laying flat. It even works with your existing TV remote.
